Sometimes the best rest happens along the way.
Coming to you in the middle of a move, we’re officially out of the guest house and camping in an apartment that is almost done being remodeled.
Sometimes you just have to rest in the middle rather than wait for all the loose ends to be tied up.
I was reminded of this by the glorious hike down to Chowen Lake in the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve here in Lebanon.
Refreshing waters bring the coolness of the mountains down to a tranquil place where the river widens into crystal clear pools.
It is the stuff of postcards – or images on social media that you pass off as having been enhanced with some photo editing.
Refreshing, relaxing, restful.
But then you have to get out, put your clothes back on, and return— an hour of steep uphill hiking.
I don’t know that I have ever done a hike where the whole point happened somewhere in the middle.
May you find moments of rest along the way and may your rest sweet.
