It’s the rest of the week. How about letting grow?
So much of what we are waiting on, working for, and wrestling with will come in time—whether we worry and wrangle or not.
No one tugs on a plant to make it grow. 1
Yes, there are basic things required for life and growth. By all means let’s do them.
Then there are the things that we tug at to the point of exhaustion.
Describing what God’s kingdom is like, Jesus told this parable:
“ ‘A man scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, whether he sleeps or gets up, the seed sprouts and grows, though he does not know how. All by itself the soil produces grain—first the stalk, then the head, then the full kernel in the head.’ ”
(Matthew 4:26-28 italics provided)
We can trust God. We can trust the process.
Here’s to letting grow.
May your rest be sweet,
Alicia
