Are you in the middle of something—maybe feeling a little tired, but pushing hard in hopes that you’ll get it done soon, and then you can rest?
One of Lebanon’s many natural gems nestles in a canyon in the Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve. Refreshing waters cascade from the heights, bringing the coolness of the mountains into a shaded sanctuary where the river widens into a crystal pool.
It is the stuff of postcards—refreshing, relaxing, restful.
Getting there is easy. A downhill trail all the way. Wonderful—except that the return trip requires an hour of straight uphill hiking. By the time you get back to your car, you’re all sweaty again and the cool refreshment has evaporated into the memory-sphere.
Have you ever done a hike where the whole point happened somewhere in the middle rather than at the end?
That’s most of life right now for many of us—going through our days with so much going on that our moments of beauty, rest, and arrival must be captured in the middle of the big consuming items on our agenda.
Here’s to the middle moments. May you find them, and may your rest be sweet.
