It’s the REST of the week—the perfect time to be unabashed.
Lay down the heaviness of embarrassment, shame, and the constant need to apologize for everything.
This is no time for second guessing, bracing, and preparing your defenses for whatever questions, attacks, or critiques might be around the corner.
God is unabashed and lavish in his creativity—and he made you. Why not revel in the freedom of being hand-made by an Artist who doesn’t seem too worried about coloring outside the lines or keeping all his creatures in one box.
Just admire his work for a moment.
The Paris fashion runway has nothing on God. Take, for example, the neon-blue nudibranch shimmering like silk in motion through the shifting blues of the sea.
And while royals spend time and money to get that regal look, the peacock simply wakes up and is ready to go—a true original.
Then there’s secretary bird. I’m imagining how celebrity commentators might report on him—he’s crossing the Savannah in feathered elegance atop black Bermuda shorts, brightening his look up with a smudge of orange eye makeup—ever ready to impress (or intimidate) with a flick of his sharp crest feathers.
The axolotl—that “smiling pink salamander“ with fluttering gills—always looks young, hanging on to its larval form during its entire life span.
While the elephants start out with wrinkles and a decidedly weathered look.
Dramatic and curious like a lemur or conservative and eager to blend in like a chameleon…
God made them all and he’s not ashamed of them. He’s not ashamed of you either.
May you rest and may your rest be sweet.
